iPhone Safety for Kids

​How do you keep your kids safe on iPhones and iPad's?

There's not a lot of information on how to keep your kids safe on there iPhones, so hopefully this easy guide can help.



Why Restrictions?

​Restrictions are a great way to limit you kids access to mature content, and to give you piece of mind when they are on their devices. Below are some of the best restrictions to limit access.

In App Purchase's

 In app purchase's can cost you a small fortune, so be sure to disable it in the settings:

  1. ​Settings
  2. General
  3. Restrictions
  4. Enable Restrictions
  5. Enter 4 digit pass-code (Don't tell your kids)
  6. Turn Off In App Purchases


Disable Safari Browser

 Disabling Safari browser is a must as this allows your kids to browse the internet.

  2. General
  3. Restrictions
  4. Enter 4 digit pass-code
  5. Turn Off Safari


Make YouTube Safe

Making YouTube Safe, Download the YouTube Kids App or enable safe search:

  1. ​Settings
  2. YouTube
  3. Tick Safe Search


Disable Downloading or Deleting Apps

Disable downloading and deleting apps, 

  1. Settings
  2. General
  3. Restrictions
  4. Enter 4 digit pass-code
  5. Turn Installing Apps & Deleting Apps


Location Services

Disable Location services, so it cant be shared in apps like Facebook.

  5. Privacy
  6. Turn Off Location


Explicit Music, Podcast's & News

Disable Explicit Music, Podcast's & News, so any explicit language is restricted

  4. Enter 4 digit pass-code
  5. Explicit Music, Podcast's & News
  6. Turn ON


Guided Access

Guided Access, this is great if you share your own iPad or phone with your kids.

It locks the the app you want so your kids don't mess around with your settings and or apps. 

  1. Settings
  2. General
  3. Accessability
  4. Guided Access
  5. Turn ON
  6. Pass-code Settings
  7. Set Guided Access Pass-code

Now go to the app ​you want to restrict and triple click the home button, Now you have to draw where you want access e.g Youtube only select the main screen so they cant pause or skip.

To disable it triple click again and enter pass-code.
